Embracing Your Power

I am a badass

You know there are situations in life that happen and leave an imprint forever. They shift the way you view the world and the trajectory of your life. As a human, you have the right to feel your feelings and accept these circumstances in your own time and way. Some things you may never forget.

You've been through trauma, loss, death, hurt, betrayal, and grief. In the thick of these reasons, it's justifiable to cloak oneself in the blanket of "why." And in fairness, that's acceptable...as long as you don't unpack and move in there.

It is possible to play the cards you are dealt in life smarter instead of harder. You have the power to control your response, your thoughts, and how you define your outcome. You can decide how to move forward. You can turn tragedy into a teachable moment.

Is it difficult? Absolutely. Will you need support and guidance? Probably! When you experience the bottom dropping out from under you, it is hard to continue to trust that the next place you stand will be safe. It's hard to forgive and let go of the bitterness and resentment. It's hard to turn off the impulsive negative response to someone or something that has a history of pushing your buttons. It's hard to shift your comfort habits into more productive ones.

It's all hard.

But it's possible. And you're worth it. You have the power to embody the shift necessary to make a change.

The difference between being a "victim" vs. victimizing one's narrative is a very slippery slope, and the truth is if you slide down into the latter of the two, you are also sliding away from your powerβ€”the power to move forward.

There are so many difficult things you go through in life, but the reality is your thoughts can narrate how you respond to these difficult things. As humans, there is a limited ability to give energy to something cognitively, and if the power is rooted in negativity and victimization, there is little room for positive outcomes.

This can impact our mental health, which affects our physical health. You deserve to live a life you love. This isn't to say it's the power of doing and saying whatever you want without responsibility. Living a life within your control requires a lot of responsibility. You must accept responsibility for your thoughts, actions, and plans to move forward.

If you are sitting among your traumas, fears, and disappointments with no action plan on shifting your thinking and behavioral habits, you are limited in your ability to get beyond what's happening TO you into a place of embracing what's FOR you.

Despite circumstances, it's time to live a life FOR you. It's time to live life with worth ON PURPOSE. It's time to Warrior FORward.
